Vision Research

linkNASA has an impressive worldwide list of vision research labs. Here is an example of one (of hundreds) of labs listed by NASA:

The linkKoch Vision Lab at the California Technology Institute is studying what they call "unecological patterns". They have been able to make subjects respond to visual input that they are not visually aware of. They call this "induced blindsight." The Koch lab studies the neuronal basis of visual awareness and consciousness. They are building linkvision chips based on insect vision (called smart vision chips). Presently the chips are under examination in auto navigation systems.
