1:15 to 2:00: Dan Kish: Vision Substitution (wearable computers); Kaspa and the Sound Flash
2:15 to 5:00: Hands-on experience with wayfinding technologies and or demonstrations. This includes: location based technologies (GPS), Vision substitution systems (SoundFlash, Kaspa), obstacle detectors (Miniguide)
9:00 to 10:15: Medical Advances (silicon implants) impacting wayfinding: Artificial Vision and biotechnology overview; Dr.Ione Fine (Second Sight Research Scientist).
10:15 to11:45: Medical perspectives; questions and answers about the video and about retinal and cortical implants
Lunch at 12:00: If you are attending the CAOMs conference and have paid the fees, lunch is included in your payment. If you wish to stay for lunch and hear the CAOMs keynote speaker, you must include an additional $20.00 with the IIBN registration fee.

The seminar will be held at the Monterey Beach Resort (Best Western), Monterey California. The California O&M Conference (CAOMs) starts concurrently with the IIBN Saturday, November 8th sessions. Check the Monterey Beach website or call the hotel at 831-394-3321.

November 7th will be an all day session sponsored by IIBN. The Saturday session will be in the morning and will be concurrent with the California Orientation and Mobility conference. The cost of the IIBN Southwest Regional Technology Seminar is separate from the cost of the CAOMs conference. The IIBN registration fee is $35.00.
