Achromatopsia

Oliver Sacks wrote a book called "Island of the Color Blind" about islands in Micronesia called Pingelap and Pohnpei where there is a large proportion of the population with achromatopsia. Dr. Sacks was accompanied on his journey to these islands by Knut Nordby, himself an achromat and the author of the book "Night Vision." Dr. Nordby is from Norway and he is a research scientist.
