Death Record: He died 11 March, 1901 in Genesee Twp., Genesee Co, MI. I have a copy of his death certificate. It verifies his day of death as March 11, 1901 and his age as 88 years 11 months, and zero days. His date of birth is given as 1812 in New York. This conflicts with other records that give his birth as 1810. Age at first marriage was 18. Parent of 12 children, 6 living in 1901. Occupation is farmer. Place of burial looks like "Richfield," although the "R" is not clear. Reporter was George Bellinger from Genesee. Undertaker was F.S Crossman (maybe "Grossman") from Flint. The doctor attended Solomon from April 9th to November 15 1900. Cause of death is obscure. The physician was B.H. "Bickwith" (not clear), witnessed on March 13, 1901. Solomon's parents are Frederich Bellinger and "unknown" Clock (or "Klock"). The birthplace of both father and mother are given as Germany. This in no way fits with the genealogical tracing that I have done so far. It is either flat out wrong, or it means that Solomon has a different heritage than what I have traced.

Denny Bellinger showed me a copy of the death certificate he got from the County of Genesee. This record is less extensive than the one I got from the state, but it contains different information. For example, the state record of cause of death is obscure. The county record clearly states that the cause of death was "vascular disease of the heart." It lists the father Frederick, but lists the mother as unknown. It also lists the birth place of the father as unknown.
